We will briefly explain to you what paediatricians and neonatologists do, what services we provide at Diga33 and how you can book a consultation with us
What does a paediatrician and a neonatologist do?
A paediatrician is a doctor specialised in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of problems that may arise during the development of the child, from the birth to the adolescence. A paediatrician is a medical doctor who provides medical care to babies from their birth to the age of 16.
Paediatricians that specialise in providing medical care to newly born babies are known as neonatologists. Neonatologists are the first doctors to check the health of newborns and treat pathologies like low birth weight, malformations, prematurity, sepsis among others.
When should I start looking for a paediatrician?
With these check-up packages we want to offer families a Paediatric Health Prevention Programme equivalent to the “Programa de Atención al Niño Sano” that is carried out in Spain. Each check-up includes, in addition to a complete physical examination, an evaluation of growth and assessment of neurodevelopmental milestones, as well as provision of information on breastfeeding, formula feeding, weaning, vaccines, and vitamin supplementation; oral and dental hygiene education, accident prevention, other health promotion measures and discussion of any concerns parents may have.
