Good nutrition plays an important role in several health conditions, many of which start in childhood. Nowadays many children are experiencing health problems, such as chronic constipation, overweight, or high cholesterol levels, which can improve with an appropriate diet. Diga33 offers diet consultations made by a paediatriacian who is specialised on nutrition. Generally, these consultations are provided by nutritionists (who are not medical doctors) or doctors that are not paeditricians. Additionally, very few doctors are specialised on nutrition and, specifically, on plant-based nutrition. A consultation with us could be helpful if you:

Dr Miriam Martinez-Biarge

Dr Miriam Martinez-Biarge is a paediatrician with special interest in newborn babies, general paediatrics, nutrition and normal and abnormal child development.

Over the past decade, Miriam has developed a strong interest for paediatric plant-based nutrition. She has so far counselled hundreds of families who wanted to raise their babies and children on vegan or vegetarian diets, or who were looking for a healthier, more plant-based way of eating.

Miriam is an Advisory Board Member of Plant Based Health Professionals UK, which is an organization dedicated to educate health professionals, members of the public and policy makers on the benefits of whole food plant-based nutrition. She also wrote a book on plant-based

Yes, it is. All major medical and dietetic associations (including the British Dietetic Association, the American Academy of Nutrition and Dietitians of Canada) agree that well-planned vegetarian and vegan diets are adequate and feasible in all stages of life, including childhood, pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Many toddlers are very fussy in relation to food: this is usually transient and does not have any negative consequences. However, in a small number of children, this behavior can be a sign of an underlying problem or can interfere with a good nutritional status – it is always good to check with your paediatrician.
